SENATE MAJORITY LEADER MARK MILLER ENDORSES ROBB KAHL FOR STATE ASSEMBLY: Joins Growing List of Community Leaders and Organizations Supporting Former Monona Mayor

(MONONA) State Senate Majority Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona) has joined a growing list of community leaders and organizations who have endorsed former Monona Mayor Robb Kahl for State Assembly.

“Robb Kahl has the experience needed to step in and get the job done in the State Assembly,” Miller said. “I look forward to working with Robb in the next legislative session.”

“I worked closely with Senator Miller as Monona Mayor,” Kahl said. “I am honored and humbled to have the support of Senate Majority Leader Miller.”

Kahl served four terms as Mayor of Monona and continues to serve as Chair of Monona’s Community Development Authority. During his tenure as Mayor, Kahl led the effort to rebuild the city’s aging infrastructure, expand and improve public services, double the size of Monona’s rainy day account, establish community sustainability efforts, increase economic development, and improve the community’s bond rating.

The recent reconstruction of Monona Drive was an enormous project led by Kahl that required cooperation among Monona, Madison, Dane County, the State of Wisconsin, and the federal government. This highly successful project has won numerous awards and has transformed Monona’s main street as the gateway to Dane County’s metropolitan east side. Robb’s budgets continually held the line on taxes but found the needed balance between providing essential services residents expect while ensuring the taxes charged for those services were fair and reasonable.

Robb and his wife Jennifer are raising their four children in Monona where they are actively involved in various community and school boards, coaching youth sports teams and spearheading community fundraising efforts. Robb looks forward to expanding his public service by putting the knowledge and skills gained in his private and public sector experience to work for the people of the 47th Assembly District.

Over 60 community leaders and organizations have endorsed Robb Kahl for Assembly in the 47^th District.

The newly configured 47th Assembly District includes all of McFarland and Monona, part of the cities of Fitchburg and Madison, and all or part of the towns of Cottage Grove, Blooming Grove, Dunn and Madison.
