The PFFW Endorses Robb Kahl for Assembly

Madison, WI – The Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin (PFFW) announced its endorsement of Robb Kahl in his race for Wisconsin State Assembly, 47th District. Representing more than 3,000 members who work in 57 communities around Wisconsin including Monona, Madison, Fitchburg, and the Fitch-Rona EMS, PFFW’s decision was made by its board of directors, which consists of rank-and-file members.

The PFFW evaluated each of the candidates and their records and concluded Kahl was clearly the best choice to help end the political divisiveness in Madison and refocus the state’s priorities to help create jobs, fund vital local governmental services and restore civility to Wisconsin government. The group specifically cited Kahl’s service working with its membership during his four terms as Mayor of Monona, his keen understanding of fire and EMS issues confronting local governments, and his ability to govern in a goal-oriented manner as important considerations in reaching their decision.

“The PFFW decision came down to a clear choice of supporting more partisanship and stagnation or getting behind a candidate like Robb Kahl that has a track record of bringing sides together and finding solutions,” noted Mahlon Mitchell, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin and the Democratic lieutenant governor candidate in the upcoming recall against Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. “Robb Kahl understands the important role men and women of the PFFW have in maintaining and improving the quality of life in their municipalities throughout the state and the need for the state to work in partnership with local governments to make our collective goals of safer communities a reality,” concluded Mitchell.

The PFFW joins the Wisconsin Professional Police Association and the Dane County Deputy Sheriffs Association as groups representing the men and women working in public safety positions throughout the state and 47th Assembly District endorsing Kahl. The 47th Assembly District covers all of McFarland and Monona and parts of Fitchburg and Madison. It also encompasses all or part of the towns of Cottage Grove, Blooming Grove, Dunn and Madison.
